The customer wanted to develop a range of Calcium Sulphonate Complex Greases for the mining industry in North America. We met this requirement with a pilot plant that could accurately replicate the characteristics of a full-scale plant.
We adapted a skid mounted Scanima Turbomixer, originally designed for the food industry. The Turbomixer provides vigorous agitation during the complex formation. This gives a better yield and a more even reaction.
We sold the pilot plant to a Merseyside grease manufacturer after we completed the work for our US client.
